Which product do I actually need?

Is any special hardware or software needed to use your programs?
As a rule, you do not need to buy expensive hardware to use our software. Our programs are fine-tuned, optimized and will perform relatively well even on computers with Pentium 100 processor or Windows 95 operating system! No additional drivers to install or upgrade. Where and when required our programs installation system will do everything necessary on the fly. 
Unless otherwise indicated in a particular software documentation, below are the Minimum system requirements for most of our software:

- Computer with Intel Pentium 166 MHz or higher processor 
- Any version of Microsoft Windows, including 98, 2000, XP, Vista 
- 128 Mb RAM 
- 10 MB free hard disk space 
- SVGA or higher resolution monitor 
- Recommended screen resolution: 1024 x 768, Color depth: 256 colors 
- Mouse or other pointing device 
For the multi-user version to work on your system, you need to install Josytal Database Application Sharepoint on the server computer.



Is there a French/Spanish... version of your applications?
No, at present there is only English version. However, plans are underway to translate the user interface to the following additional languages: french, german, russian, spanish



 What are the differences between Single-user and Multi-User versions of your software?
Multi-User versions have the following additional specific features:
  • With multi-user version many users (up to 1000) can use/share one database via the local area network (LAN)
  • The system administrator can set up rules such that each user will only have access to the records he has added to the database - for example, his tasks, daily plans, contacts, email messages etc.
  • The system administrator can set up rules such that some users may not be able to copy, print out, delete or add records to the database, even after they have gainied access to the database
  • Administrator may assign different combinations of privileges to different users on different remote computers/workstations for manipulating records stored in the database after gaining access. For example: 

  • User #1 - Read/Write/Delete/Print/Export 
    User #2 - Read/Write/Print 
    User #3 - Read/Print 
    User #4 - Read only 
    User #5 - Read/Delete 
    User #6 - Read/Write
  • Administrator may ban (deny) any user from accessing the database
  • New users can be added later on in future. The new user will join and use the existing database you already have. You do not need to create a new database for the new user. After installing the software on his computer, the new user will connect to the existing database via the local network (LAN).
  • For the multi-user version to work on your system, you need to install Josytal Database Application Sharepoint on the server computer. Fast and reliable application server that interfaces a single database to convey processed data to and from many users' (clients) workstations (computers) in a local area network (LAN). Takes care of the “business logic” in a “multi-tier” architecture - retrieves, processes and presents data to the clients, and also centrally processes any input data whether queries or updates, including any validation, verification and security checks that need to be performed. Can I purchase more than 1 licence for Single-User version?
Yes you can. For example if you have more than one user. Each user will have a complete program with his/her separate database. Unlike in the multi-user version, users can not share a common database.


Can I purchase 1 licence for Multi-User version? 
Yes you can. For example if you have only one user now and plan to increase the number of users in future. When next time you buy another Multi-user version, the new user will join and use the existing database you already have. You do not need to create a new database for the new user. After installing the software on his computer, the new user will connect to the existing database via the local network (LAN).


Can I later upgrade from Single-user to Multi-User version
No. Because they use different database architecture and database security routines.

Do I need to purchase the Extended download service or/and Backup CD 
The short answer is no, you do not need to buy the extended download service (eds) or backup CD. You will always have full access to the latest release. Should you lose your registered version by for example, reformatting your hard drive, you can always email us and we will provide you access to the latest release free of charge.

You may want to keep the eds should you require a secondary back up in the event that you need to re-install in a short amount of time and do not wish to wait for us to reply to your email (our average response time at the time of writing is approx 24 hours). RegNow do not allow us to use their services unless we offer their eds service, which is automatically added to your order. If you do not want this service or any other services, you can remove them from the order form by clearing the relevant check box and then clicking the "Update" button on the order form.

Fortunately, we also partner with FastSpring, another reliable eCommerce service provided. With FastSpring you do not need to buy the extended download service (eds) or backup CD.
