Label Mix HomePage  Barcode Object

Barcode object enables user to draw on label an optical machine-readable representation of data to uniquely identify an item. Series of black bars and white spaces of varying widths are printed on labels. Such barcodes may be referred to as linear or one-dimensional (1D).
Because there are many ways to arrange these bars and spaces, numerous symbologies are possible. Common linear symbologies include UPC/EAN, Interleaved 2 of 5 (I of 5), Codabar, Code 39, and Code 128.

Barcode object can be linked to a database so the raw barcode data is pulled from a database field.
To add an Barcode object to your label design, do the following:

    1. Select the Object|Barcode
    2. Click in the design area at the position where you want to insert the Barcode.

Other Barcode object properties that can be modified are:
Top Coordinate x from the object insertion point
Left Coordinate y from the object insertion point
Color Character font color.  Click on the Color bar to change.
Print Check (mark, tick) the box if you want to print the content of the object in the final label design printout.
Background Fills the background of the object with selected color. Transparent property must be unchecked for the background color property to take effect. By default, the background color is white. Click on the Color bar to change to necessary color.
Transparent Must be unchecked to make the object's background color affective.
FieldName Barcode object can acquire its raw data either from text (string) as manual input or can be linked to a database so the raw data is pulled from a database table field.
FieldName property is the name of the field from database table or from counter, we want to bind the Barcode object to. Database must be checked (ticked, marked, selected) in order to use FieldName.
Database Check (tick, mark. select) in order to link the object to a database table
Angle Angle of inclination. Can be selected from drop-down list of values: 0, 90, 180 and 270 degrees.
Bar Width Width of bar code in millimeters or current unit of measurement. For more explanation see barcode types and dimensions
Factor Relationship between the width of normal bars and wide bars in barcode. The range of values that can be assigned depends on the type of barcode. For more explanation see barcode types and dimensions
Distance Separation between the digits of the barcode when viewed (property Show Number must be checked for distance property to be active). For more explanation see barcode types and dimensions
Bar height Height of barcode in millimeters or current unit of measurement. For more explanation see barcode types and dimensions
L. Margin Space added to the left and right extremes of the barcode bars. For more explanation see barcode types and dimensions
T. Margin Space added above and below the barcode bars. For more explanation see barcode types and dimensions
Show Number When checked, the raw data from which the barcode has been generated will be displayed below the barcode bars.
Checksum Check (select, mark, tick) to automatically compute the final control digit for the barcode. For more explanation see barcode types
Font height Height of the font used to display raw data below the barcode. Show Number property must be checked for font height to be effective.
Font Name of font used to display raw data below the barcode. Show Number property must be checked for font height to be effective.
BarCode Raw code from which the barcode is generated. If the Barcode object is linked to a database, raw code can extracted from the database field (table column)
Barcode Type Drop-down list of available types of barcode. Each bar code has its limitations regarding the length and type of characters to use. For more explanation see  barcode types
